THE STICKERROAR GUIDE

Choosing Clear Material for Character Artwork

Review the character's light details and the space around the silhouette before choosing a clear base.

Updated

A blonde fairy with large pink wings sits among peach flowers, wearing a petal dress and a floral crown with her hand resting near her face.

What to know

Character art can contain eyes, teeth, highlights and pale clothing that are important to its expression. Those areas should not be confused with empty background. Compare the same character on the intended object color and identify any print details that need confirmation.

Check your plan

  • Inspect white facial details.
  • Check pale clothing and highlights.
  • Separate empty surroundings from intentional white artwork.

A practical example

A smiling character may lose its expression if white teeth are treated as transparent space. Make the intended white areas clear during the print review.
