THE STICKERROAR GUIDE

Measuring a Sticker Layout Around an Existing Graphic

Treat an existing sticker as a fixed object and measure the remaining space before adding another design.

Updated

A front-facing black horse head is surrounded by curling orange flames above the words BORN TO BURN.

What to know

Adding one graphic can change the balance of the whole surface. Outline the existing design on paper and test the new piece beside it. Avoid using the remaining width alone: the space above, below and between the shapes affects how clearly each design reads.

Check your plan

  • Record the old design's complete outline.
  • Try both aligned and staggered positions.
  • Keep a visible gap between important details.

A practical example

A small floral accent can follow the edge of a larger character sticker. If the outlines touch, the flower may look like an unintended part of the character.

The cover is an artwork example from the catalog. Use the measurements and file checks above to evaluate your own project, rather than treating the image as a scale reference.
