Planet Stack Stickers: Ring Width and Vertical Spacing
Compare two tall planet-stack illustrations by their ring angles, largest planet and overall footprint before choosing a narrow placement.
Updated
The rings may be wider than the planets
A column of planets looks naturally suited to a tall space, but the ringed planet can extend far beyond the central stack. In the pictured designs, colorful worlds run vertically while a large striped planet anchors the middle. The ring angle changes the widest part of the arrangement.
Measure both the entire height and the widest ring span. A strip that fits the small upper planets can still be too narrow for the lower ringed section.
Compare gaps between the worlds
Spacing keeps the individual circles readable as separate illustrated planets. At a reduced size, inspect the smaller top and bottom forms, not only the large central one. The visible gaps are part of the graphic design; they do not automatically mean each planet is a separate physical sticker.
These are decorative illustrations rather than a scale model of the solar system. Use them for their colors and composition, without treating their relative sizes or distances as educational measurements.
Keep the column upright on purpose
Try a paper footprint next to the edge you intend to follow. A slight rotation affects the entire stack and can make the upper and lower planets lean away from the surrounding lines. If the placement is too short, choose another composition rather than cropping a planet out mentally.
Review the actual source-resolution notice when enlarging a tall design. Our width-and-height guide explains why one size number cannot describe every irregular footprint.
