THE STICKERROAR GUIDE

Reading a Sticker Bounding Box

Use the bounding box to understand the maximum footprint without mistaking it for the printed shape.

Updated

An orange paint splash stretches into long rounded drips with blue splashes on the left and lime green on the right.

What to know

The bounding box is the smallest rectangle surrounding the design area being measured. Irregular artwork may leave much of that rectangle visually empty. Check where the widest and tallest points occur, especially when only one leaf, wing or letter creates the maximum dimension.

Check your plan

  • Locate the extreme left and right points.
  • Locate the top and bottom points.
  • Compare the occupied shape inside the box.

A practical example

A bird with one extended wing can have a wide bounding box but a compact body. Measure the full wing span when checking clearance.

The cover is an artwork example from the catalog. Use the measurements and file checks above to evaluate your own project, rather than treating the image as a scale reference.
