THE STICKERROAR GUIDE

Planning Symmetrical Sticker Placement

Use a centerline and consistent offsets when a pair of designs needs to look balanced.

Updated

A black-and-white shield surrounds a red circle and laurel branches, with repeated JAPAN lettering along the top and above EDITION at the base.

What to know

Symmetry is a relationship between placements, not simply a pair of identical dimensions. Record the distance from a stable reference line and compare the designs together. Directional artwork may need a separately prepared mirrored version; flipping a file also flips any text.

Check your plan

  • Mark a reliable centerline on your paper plan.
  • Use the same reference points on both sides.
  • Check the orientation of text and faces.

A practical example

Two birds facing inward require different orientations from two identical right-facing birds. Confirm the artwork version as well as the measurements.

The cover is an artwork example from the catalog. Use the measurements and file checks above to evaluate your own project, rather than treating the image as a scale reference.
