THE STICKERROAR GUIDE

Reviewing Holes and Gaps in a Die-Cut Design

Distinguish visual gaps in the artwork from holes that you expect to be physically cut out.

Updated

A purple-haired illustrated rider wears a white helmet with red accents and a blue visor, raising two gloved fingers beside the helmet.

What to know

An empty area inside a drawing is not automatically a production instruction to remove that material. A handle opening, letter counter or gap between limbs can be printed, transparent or cut depending on the final setup. State the result you need and confirm it with the print review.

Check your plan

  • Identify every interior opening that matters.
  • Separate artwork transparency from physical cutting.
  • Ask about intricate openings before approving production.

A practical example

The center of a ring graphic may appear empty on screen. Confirm whether you expect clear material there or an actual hole through the sticker.

The cover is an artwork example from the catalog. Use the measurements and file checks above to evaluate your own project, rather than treating the image as a scale reference.
