THE STICKERROAR GUIDE

Trimming Empty Space Around a Sticker File

Check whether extra canvas space makes the artwork look smaller than expected in the preview.

Updated

A black fleur-de-lis has a tall pointed center, curved side petals and a curled lower base accented with gray interior highlights.

What to know

An image can have the correct pixel dimensions while the subject occupies only a small portion of the canvas. Empty outer space changes how the design fits inside the configured shape. Review the original and any trimmed preview so you understand which area is being scaled.

Check your plan

  • Compare the canvas edge with the subject edge.
  • Remove unnecessary space in the source export.
  • Keep intentional breathing room when it is part of the design.

A practical example

A small logo centered on a large transparent canvas can appear unexpectedly tiny. A tighter export makes the relationship between the logo and finished dimensions easier to judge.

The cover is an artwork example from the catalog. Use the measurements and file checks above to evaluate your own project, rather than treating the image as a scale reference.
