THE STICKERROAR GUIDE
Sizing a Wide Landscape Sticker
Size a wide landscape sticker using its aspect ratio and smallest details. Compare a full panorama with a tighter crop and check both dimensions.

What to know
A wide landscape can become surprisingly shallow when scaled to fit a short width. Mountain peaks, tree trunks and reflections may then compete in a thin strip. Compare the horizon and the lowest foreground detail at the finished size.
Check your plan
- Record the artwork's width-to-height relationship.
- Inspect the smallest trees or lettering.
- Use a paper strip matching both dimensions.
A practical example
A long forest silhouette can work as a narrow accent. A detailed lake reflection may need a taller composition to keep the scene understandable.
Calculate how shallow the scene becomes
A panorama with a 4:1 width-to-height ratio has a 2-inch artwork height at 8 inches wide, or a 1-inch artwork height at 4 inches wide. Both the trees and their spaces shrink with it. The figures describe the artwork before considering a finished border.
Print a strip at the proposed dimensions and inspect the horizon, foreground and any small lettering. A clear silhouette may still communicate the landscape when a detailed reflection or group of tiny cabins becomes difficult to distinguish.
Compare cropping with scaling
If the scene loses its subject when reduced, try a deliberate tighter crop in an editable copy. Keep the landmarks that define the composition and review what the crop removes. A crop changes both the story and the remaining pixels, so recalculate the file's effective resolution before upload.
Do not stretch the image vertically just to make its trees taller; that also changes the mountains and proportions. Compare the original panorama with a naturally taller arrangement or a simpler silhouette, then use a paper footprint to check the final width and height together.
Put the check into practice
Browse outdoor and landscape car sticker designs, compare sizes on the relevant product page, or describe your planned footprint in a custom sticker request. Orders are requests without online payment; final production details require confirmation.
